Artist Statement
I am convinced that, for human beings, there is nothing more difficult than grappling with the emptiness—in any of its manifestations. Confronting it can induce a sublime state of simultaneous attraction and repulsion. I seek to approach the sublime through the void, employing strategies that evoke it.
By confronting it, I aim to reveal the fragility and resilience of the human experience, highlighting our instinctive fear of emptiness and our simultaneous yearning for the freedom it offers.
Since it is physically impossible to work directly with the void, I have developed strategies to suggest it:
The absence of presence and the presence of the absent.

Inspired by the concept of "Chôra" in ancient Greek philosophy, I see my art as a contemporary interpretation of this receptive space. Like "Chôra", my works are not mere absences, but potential sites for reception and transformation. Through this dialogue, I aim to uncover the beauty and depth that lies within the spaces between, and how the void can shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
